Book Review: The One O’ Clock Miracle

By Alison Mitchell

Illustrated by Catalina Echeverri

The One O’ Clock Miracle is a sweet rendition found in John 4:46-54. It is set in Capernaum, which is near the Sea of Galilee. This delightful picture book is based on the true story of an official who has an ill son. Out of desperation to save his life, he sets out to find Jesus who was known to heal the sick and reveal other miraculous endeavors in order to help sinners believe in the power of the Almighty God. Catalina Echeverri, the illustrator, created enchanting pictures that are wonderfully creative and adorable interpretations of the story, bringing the biblical account to life for little ones to enjoy. My students and children loved it as they flipped through it and I enjoyed the ability to strike up conversations on the content and showing them the connection in the Bible. This pleasing story is one to read repeatedly as you teach your child to believe the Word during good and bad times.
